To start the applications service in R12 in vm,we have to follow below ways

A) Starting the Database

B) Starting the Listener

C) Starting the R12 Applications

A)Starting the database

1) login as database user from putty session ( su – ovisr12

2) fire the below command to connect the database

sqlplus “/as sysdba”

3)After connect to database ,use below command to startup the database

startup

4)After startup the database ,exit from the sqlplus by using below command

exit

B) Starting the Listener

5) Now we have to start the listener for communication with application tier by using below command from database user

lsnrctl start visr12 ( so,now our database is able to communicate the application tier)

C)Starting the R12 Applications Services

1)Login as application user from database user after you startup the listener ( su – avisr12),

here it will ask for password( welcome1)

2) Once you login as Apps user the go to below directory for startup scripts

cd $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME

3) Now fire the below command to start the applications ( make sure you are must be at above directory)

./adstrtal.sh apps/apps

Now your R12 vm is ready to use,please try to access the apps url

Recently i faced issue while accessing   the virtual machine from my host machine,so here i am giving some tips to resolve this issue

Tip1: check our your Virtual machine network setting ( if you are using NAT type then change to Brigged and vise versa)

Tip2: if above tip is not resolved your issue then have a look on your virtual machine host Ip settings,your virtual machine should be in similar way with your host machine Ip,if in my case ,host ip is 192.168.1.22 ,then my virtual ip should be like 192.168.1…. ( so first 3 digits should be same).

Recently we got experienced with vmware issues (service 503 not available) while tried to open the Vmware.

So,if any one of you facing this issues then please check “vmware webservice status” in service.msc ,if status is offline the start it manually,after even you are facing same issue then check in /etc/hosts file under c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts ,so here open the hosts file as administrator( right click on hosts file and chosse as administrator), so here make sure the 127.0.0.1 ip should represents the local domain name (or your Vmware name) and it should not be conflict with other machine names.

So,it should fix the above issue.
